IMA Europe - Industrial Minerals Association

The industrial minerals sector recognises sustainable development as a vital objective for society and readily acknowledges its responsibility for helping to achieve this critical aim. To take the sector forward in a sustainable way, the members of IMA-Europe have agreed to work actively towards continuous improvement in economic, environmental and social performance and laid down their commitment in the IMA-Europe Sustainable Development Charter, and the IMA-Europe Biodiversity Statement.

Industrial minerals are also at the forefront of innovation and play an essential role in various high-tech applications (examples).

Recent SD initiatives include: the IMA-Europe LCA Project, the European Minerals Day, raising awareness about biodiversity conservation in the minerals sector (see video & case studies) and the IMA-Europe Award Programme.
