IMA-Europe joins the REP

New proposal for a public-private partnership by the European Process Industry -
With the objective to achieve a sustainable future for the European industry and economy, they propose a Research & Innovation Public-Private Partnership (PPP) called Sustainable Process Industry through Resource and Energy Efficiency (SPIRE), which aims at developing enabling strategies solutions along the value chain. IMA-Europe has joined the REP together with four European Technology Platforms (i.e. Steel, Sustainable Chemistry, Water and Sustainable Mineral Resource) and a number of process industry organisations representing metals, glass, paper, ceramics and engineering industries.

IMA-Europe is an official partner of the new OSHA-EU Campaign on Safe Maintenance. See campaign website at http://hw.osha.europa.eu.

 As support activities, a workshop dedicated to "Health and Safety in Maintenance in the Industrial Minerals Industry" will be organised in 2011 and, in the frame of the IMA dust monitoring programme, a special focus will put on improving exposure levels in the maintenance job function.
